This online blog has been created to enhance the communication between students during the artmaking process. While working on a photographic work and upon completion, students will post their images and wait for comments from their fellow peers, teacher, and other registered users. This blog will also be used as a venue to discuss historical and contemporary works by artists from around the world.

i think the message is stereotypes, with each scene, on the bench is a different idea associated with the people in the image, all except for the woman with the child. i think they were thinking about people, groups, and what people think of them..
I feel the message of this series is opinions of the people around you; kind of like stereotypes. I can't really tell but maybe, now that I think about it, that everyone is on the same line of benches. Because of the composition where the women are looking to their right and the man is looking to his left, the women could be thinking the man is a public enemy as the man is looking at them thinking that they should think of their morals and to not stereotype him like that. Meanwhile, the woman and baby are keeping to themselves.
Im not going to lie, but i have NO idea what this photographers message was when he shot this series.
The photographer is focusing on the oversimplified conceptions and opinions of certain members of soceity.
I DONT KNOW THE MESSAGE IN THESE PHOTOS, IT REALLY CONFUSING, I THINK THE BENCHES ARE RESERVED FOR PEOPLE, LIKE THE ONES THAT SAY PUBLIC ENEMY AND MORAL, I LIKE SERIES LIKE THIS BECAUSE IT MAKES ME THINK
This one is a little complicated. First of all, you can tell the the photo appears to be cut into three different parts. If we were to put the photo back together i believe the mother would be in the middle, the older women on the right side and the man at the left. We can see that the people or peoples on either side of the mother are looking at her. The words written on the bench appear to be going in the direction of the mother indicating what each of the persons on either side think of her. On another note, it could be that the words are describing the people next to them, and the reason there are no words next to the mother is because she is considered just a good, caring, rsponsible person.
The message of the series is the difference of people at a park. The bench is common ground, where people think about others around them. They could have stereotype thoughts. But you don't really know what they are thinking because the series isn't in that depth.
I think the message is how different people can be. It symbolized that they all come together in some way (in this case, sitting on the same bench)but they are all different and going through many different things.
I'm not really sure what the artist was thinking while shooting these images. Maybe the message is how when we look at certain type of people we automatically put them in categories.
OKay, this person is obviously obsessed with benches. That cant be healthy. But anywho, uuumm... yet again, I have no idea what this picture means. It's like seeing a story told by a bench. And the word on the benches make no sense to me. If anything, i would say that the word public enemi or whatever that word was with the guy on it, represents the bench being the enemy to us, because alot of us sit on them not knowing the nasties that touched them before us and will sooner or later get us sick from ugly germs like that guy has. You can so tell he's covered in them. That's why he looks so sad.
I have to agree with tricia and nicole, I think this message is displaying a huge amount of stereotypical pressure on one man. On the other hand I can see where Jacob is coming from as well and this could definitely be a very well thought out and cut out panoramic. If you place it all together they could all be different people not really doing much except taking in the scenery and just relaxing. But as a panoramic I think that this piece is great.
I think that this image is trying to tell you alot of different things and try to make u really think what they want you to feel. I think that they were thinking of the different types of people and how people see them.
Maybe the Artist was trying to say that "public enemies may sit here" and "people with morals may sit there." These labels on the benches seems like it indicates where someone can sit, and converse with someone of the same interests. Maybe the astist was trying to send us a message of how easy it is to meet someone of your liking.
The artist seemed to sit people who fit the graffiti description written on the bench. The lady with no writing on her bench is kind of odd though, i guess he or she is trying to say that a "good class person" like that doesnt have any negative sort of description in society.
Im not really sure what the message is because this piece is a little hard. I thik it is a stereotype of what people in society truly think of each gender. He captures what they think but won't really say to someone.
The benches seem to be labeling the people and where they sit or where they should be. I think the photographer was thinking about the different kinds or people you can find just about anywhere, like the park.
Since no one is sitting on the benches that have writing on them, it leads me to believe those benches are being reserved for those who fit the category. The people that are sitting on the benches next to those with writing are distastefully staring at the empty benches with a hatred for the people they are reserved for. The last pictue doesn't have any writing and the girl is not really paying attention because she doesn't see the sterotypes of people.
