Alain GauvinHow do you think this image was created? What type of camera was used? What does this image represent to you?
This online blog has been created to enhance the communication between students during the artmaking process. While working on a photographic work and upon completion, students will post their images and wait for comments from their fellow peers, teacher, and other registered users. This blog will also be used as a venue to discuss historical and contemporary works by artists from around the world.

I think these are a few(maybe 3) negatives put together. The type of camera used was probably 35mm, but It can also be digital and edited on photoshop.I thikn this is pretty cool.
This is definitely a surrealism piece. It was most likely taken with a 35 mm camera. i think the artist sandwiched 2 negatives together. it looks perfect, the artist must have done alot of dodging and burning.
i think this image was created by sandwiching negatives. i also think that a 35mm camera was used. to me, the image represents kind of an "alice and wonderland world" like the swirl in the middle reminds me of when alice falls down the hole with the rabbit.
I believe that its a digital picture of a film slide, hence the "kodak 400" label at the top. It must have been created by "sandwiching" a couple negatives together and a very skilled darkroom user.
The swirl on the middle chair must represent something, im having a hard time of thinking what it is. Could it be something along the lines of, pick who you sit with. Meaning that if you pick the wrong people you might be stuck in a bad environment (whatever is behing the swirl) forever.
I think that the photo was created by sandwhiching 2 negatives together or possibly 3. I think that a 35mm camera was used to take the chair pictures but the swirl i think was digitally put into this photograph. I think that it is a pretty interesting photo because it really make you wonder what the photographer was thinking when he made this photo.
........I think this image was taken with a film camera that was developed in black and white. Then..... Uuummm... I really have no idea. I think this image is boring and doesnt ammuse me what's so ever. I mean who takes picture's of chair's, SERIOUSLY! If anything the only thing that I could come up with is the image representing someone being dizzy, Since when your dizzy you feel like you need to sit down and sit still in a "chair" and to me the swirly thingy represent's the act of being dizzy. And yeah....
this photo caught my eye, i noticed the kodak 400 thing on the top and bottom so this must have been taken with film, but it seems as if it has been edited digitally or in photoshop, or mabey the photographer sandwiched the negatives, i like the chairs, they make u think that the chairs are for someone and it makes u think about who they might be for, and the middle chair seems as if u sat it in that u would fall in and it would take u somewhere
This reminds me of the project we did last year. From the words and numbers on the bottom and top of the photo, I would say this was taken by a 35mm camera. This image kind of reminds me of when I fainted over the summer because the middle chair has a swirly thing on it.
I think this photo was either made by putting several negatives together or by using photoshop. To me this image says if you sit still its like your going down and you won't get anywhere in life.
i think this photo was making in negative on photoshop to made it more created. On top of picture said "kodak 400" so it must be taken by kodak 400 films. this photo is pretty interesting because its look like it try to mix the whole thing with those chairs. its awesome. :]
The type of camera that i believe was used was a 35 mm. Because if you look at the very top of the picture where it's black. it says some numbers and "kodak." This was probably on the negative that the photographer used.
I think that maybe this person used like 3 negatives overlapping each other. he probably needed to be really precise on the measurements of the photographs.
Different places lead you to different situations. Thats what i interpret when i glance at this image. Why? Because of how there are different types of chairs and theres a swirly thing in the middle of one of the chairs. The swirl reminds me of having " a series of ideas."
This was definitely a darkroom alterated image and a very cool surrealism piece. You can tell that there was a huge train of thought put into this and that there are at least two negatives within the finalized piece. I really don't know what kind of opinion to offer on this piece other than the fact that I really like it and I think the artist did a great job.
Multiple exposure. Some sort of film camera was used, either 35mm or medium or large format.
I believe the photographer used a 35mm camera and sandwiched two or three negatives together. I can't really figure out why there is a swirl in the middle of the image. Because there's a swirl, it reminds me of a kind of hypnotizing thing. I imagine the swirl moving, like it's neverending and while this is going on, I see a bunch of chairs floating around.
i think this camera was used by negative sandwhiching using black and white film in a 35 mm camera. It makes me feel that if I sit in this chair, I will be transported into a whole different world, and that I'll be lost forever.
It looks like three negatives sandwiched together, so that would make the camera used a 35mm. It's cool; I don't really understand it though. Who cares about chairs?
