This online blog has been created to enhance the communication between students during the artmaking process. While working on a photographic work and upon completion, students will post their images and wait for comments from their fellow peers, teacher, and other registered users. This blog will also be used as a venue to discuss historical and contemporary works by artists from around the world.

this photo was taken as a self portrait, as in the person in this picture held the camera out in front of her and then snapped the shot at the angle of her choice. this lighting used was forelight, from the front/side view, hence the reason for her side shadow. i kind of feel sad or depressed, i feel that way a lot whenever i see dark gloomy images.
I thikn it was probably self - portrait, or just portraiture in general. She probably took it herself holding the camera above her.The lighting was used in front of her face.I actually like the lighting here because you can see her shadow. I thikn this is a perfect lighting picture, When I look at this picture I think/Feel that she is sad or has been through emotional problems.
When i first saw this photo, it reminded me of someone out of a video game. It's strange. I think that the photographer took the photo with her camera from over her head and then manipulated it somehow on photoshop. I love this photo because of the mood it gives off. It gives me chills, but not in a scary way.
i think this photograph was taken digitally. I think there were spotlights used because of the shadowing.. I think the camera was set on an intese color situation. The image kind of looks like its been altered, in some places its seems like the color is brighter. I overall like this photo, i like all the characteristics it has, its color, and the wallpaper in the background.
The way the shadow is on the wall makes this photo look like the girl is taking her own picture. The lighting is coming from the right side giving the left side of her face a shadow. I really like this photo because it isn't an angle that you see everyday and the lighting gives it a soft feeling. The decorative wall that she is leaning on gives the photo texture. It wouldn't have the same effect if it was just a solid color wall.
Id say the photo is a digital piece rather than film because of the simple observation of a "no grain" "smoother" kind of look thats not really reminiscent of the film images i have seen.
The image was probably lighted with one strobe light or umbrella from the left side, hence the large shadow and "pop out" look.
Thats what I like about this photo, that "pop out 3d look" I love that. I think in this image it was used a little too drastically but i guess it fits it well since the boy is a little sad looking. But what do i know, after all i thought that picture on the business card was a masterpiece
i, unlike everybody else on this blog, do not believe that this is a self-portrait. unless it was just coincedence that this photo came out looking this good, i don't think we could call it a self-portrait. i have no idea the style that is use or whatever. i feel a sense of independence in this photo.
i think this image is a self portrait. you can see the shadow of her arm and it looks as if she took the picture herself. the lights coming from her left and everything else is dark.
Well it's basically kinda ovious how the picture was taken. He/She was most likely holding it up above his/her head at an angle to catch that sort of mood that he/she wanted. And you can tell because the shadow of her arm is exstanding out, heading above his/her head. Since the shadow of his/her body is pretty well shaped right, I would have to say that his/her light source was beaming from infront of him/her, giving the outline of his/her body as well as shown. Once again another horror flick pic. Looks like something that came out of like "When A Stranger Calls". Like he/she is the babysiter, Heading upstairs to check on the childeren because he/she herd a noise. OOHH and another thing that's been bugging me is..... not to be all mean about it but what is he/she??? It look's like a guy and a girl! Frustrates me!
i believe this photograph was taken with a digital without flash. The lighting is coming from the front right side of the girls face. The camera settings used were probably like a slower setting because of how accurate the portrait is to real life. My thoughts when i look at this image is about how innocent the girl looks and how it seems like a typical "myspace" self photo. ha.
this photo is really nice, the lighting in the photo makes it good, it seems as if the person is just laying in the dark, and the shadows make u think that the person is hiding, also the blond hair and green shirt make the person stand out, i think this photo was taken by the same person that is in the picture because of the angle the person is in it
It was taken by a photographer seperate from the person in the actual photo. The lighting is very dramatic and directed up towards the subject from the lower righthand corner. I'm not drawn in by this image, I feel that it's rather boring.
The photo was taken a self-portrait. The lighting was in front of her, giving the look of shadows on her face and around her. The lighting for this photo was really good and interesting. This photo seems to make you sad or erie because of the lighting. She might've been in that kind of mood when she took the photo of herself.
