When i look at this piece i get a little scared. For some reason this photo makes me feel insecure and unsafe. It reminds me of a scary movie movie cover, almost as if it could be the cover for Dead Silence, the movie about the Vantrilaquist and her dolls. Ha, that's probably why i get scared, I don't like dolls. I guess since I've mentioned a lot just about this photograph and its significance to me, it would be interesting. An uninteresting photo wouldn't bring a lot to my mind about it. :)
When I look at this photo, i think of like, masquarade parties, and carnivals, and circus's. I guess I kind of do find it interesting because of how the light is only reflected on the mask. its spooky.
To be honest, this photo kind of freaked me out. I love the coloring though, i love how the mask stands out in the dark. It reminds me of a porcelain doll or something. I find it very interesting because of the lighting. If the lighting were normal, the photo wouldnt have the same meaning or appeal to it.
The image seems very mysterious. The lighting in the background is beckoning and makes me want to get past the doll in the foreground to reach that background, but the doll is intimidating and seems as though it might be difficult and daunting to pass it.
This photograph really intrigues me... It makes you look more than twice, and it made me wonder whether or not this woman was real. After observing it closer i realized that her nasal passagways aren't 'caved' in so to speak, therefore allowing me to think that perhaps this is a mask. Plus her face looks porcelen and painted... This might be obvious to some people right away, but then again the 'painted on face' was in style in the 40's so it could have been from then or someone re-creating a woman from that time.
Anyhow, I really enjoy this photo... Expecially with the shadowing and the focusing, and the way it looks like this 'woman' is coming out of hiding.
When I look at this piece I want to know where this scene takes place. To me it looks like something out of a scary movie when the main characters are piecing things together at the end and maybe they go and look inside a closet and see a doll head. I find this photo very interesting because of the way the lighting is and how you can only see a portion of the face. I also love how you can't really tell what else the light is hitting next to the head, you kind of just have to come up with your own idea of what you think it could be.
This photo is creepy. It looks like a movie still from some horror/suspense movie. Like someone is going to come home and there will be some creepy murderer woman hiding in your living room. Yeah, that is scary. It's definitely interesting though. Only an interesting photo could make me come up with a movie plot.
My first thought when looking at this photo was what was the intention of the photographer.? The different elements of the photo, like the shadows and the subject make the image kind of awkward and scary..I like the photo because its different, and its layers make it entertaining to my eyes. Overall, i like the image is scary, but i like it.
This photograph is very mysterious. The lighting leaves me wondering what else is there that isn't visible. I want to get past the face and see the background. The photographer really makes me think. I'm not even sure what his or her intention is. It could be numerous things. Maybe they wanted me to be scared or maybe they wanted me to think about the mood of the photo. The mood may be showing how (even though the face is a doll or mask) they feel. Overall, I really like this image.
I definitely think that this piece is quite creepy, yet interesting in it's own sick and twisted way. It really does display a huge amount of art within the picture because of the way that the light only portrays the mask and not the face or mount that it is on. There is definitely that creepy factor within the image like the one that makes you look over your shoulder twice.
This piece looks as if it could be the cover of a scary movie. I find it very interesting because you can't tell if someone is wearing the mask or not. It reminds me of a video game I used to play. One of the characters in the game wore a mask just like this one.
Finally Ms. Cress, you got some cool pictures in these prompts. About time. I personally love this one. How the light is positioned really makes the subject pop and appear 3d like because of the shadows.
The darkness really makes me want to think about what is there, like a mystery. "Does the face have a body or did Chucky chop it off" Things like that
this picture is pretty weird and kinda confusing. i can't really tell what's going on in the background, and i think it looks kind of.. messy. i suppose. but i do like how the photo makes you think. like is the head floating or what? and why is it hiding in the darkness? hm..
When I look at this piece, I thik of a book cover. It is perfect for a mystery novel of a sort.It gives it a mysterious look about it. I like it, I thik the colors/contast givees it a special touch.
when i look at this photo, it reminds me of some scary dolls movies. i like it since i love scary pictures. yea i find it interesting because of that mask seems its gonna 2 toward out of the picture. :]
to me, this photograph is not one of fear or sadness, but rather a sense of peace and serenity. The mask, seeming untouched by time is content with it's surrounding. It almost gives me a sense of piece.
This photograph is very interesting. I find it to be very mysterious, it makes me want to know if that face is a doll or somebody. i also like how its in black and white, it makes a bigger effect on the viewer. I ALSO WANT TO TO SEND A SHOUT OUT TO MY HOMIES PEARL AND NORBERT!
When I look at this piece, I become intrigued. Why is there barely any light in the photo? It's completely black expect for her face and the window. Though, there is a window, it doesn't help the lighting in the picture. It's as though it's trying to tell you that she's in a despair. I really like this photo because of the spookiness of the mask and the how the darkness also protrays that.
Uuummm... yeah. This picture reminds me of my Aunt's freaky looking glass dolls that she used to collect. I didnt like them because they always looked like they kept staring at me. I find this picture interisante because at the same time if you focus on the mask or face or whatever, it looks porcelain, but if u look at the forehead, you can like so tell it's made out of wood because of the markings. The background reminds me of the movie "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" because it's all dark and abondoned looking. Like even if you were to go back there, you would still be alone and in the dark after a shimmer of light. Yeah, wow Ms. Cress, these are alot more funner and better then hand writting them.
this picture reminds me of like a beautiful victim you know like marilyn monroe, something that is going to be very disturbing. It is a great piece. the lightin is amazing.

I find this piece interesting, because of the contrast of the girl's face and the black. Her face seems like its floating in mid-air. It doesn't have a body attached. This photograph is interesting because of what its trying to protray. To me it protrays a horror film.
