Welcome, Welcome, Welcome!!!!

Hello Streamwood High School Photography students!!

Welcome to our online classroom blog!! I hope that you had lots of rest and relaxation this summer, because we have a wonderfully exciting year ahead of us!!

As you know from your previous experience in photography, talking and writing about work is an extremely important element in your artistic development. You will be using this online blog throughout the school year to talk about your own artwork, and the works of others. Photographically, you will be working predominantly documentary style during the year. Since your classroom time is going to be devoted to shooting, developing and printing, you will be able to critique in the comforts of your own home. Posting your work online will allow more opportunity for in-progress and finished critiques.

In addition to critiquing the works of your classmates, you will also be asked to look at the work of other historical and contemporary photographers, the work of your teacher, and the work of a class of high school students in Urbana, Illinois. We will be inviting the class of Mrs. Gleason at Urbana High School to participate in our online discussions.

I look forward to many thought-provoking discussions with all of you. Sign up for our blog today!!

Best,

Ms. Cress
