Tell me about this photograph. What do you see? What does it represent? Why does it exist in the art world?

To me, this photograph is kind of creepy. The tree reminds me of one that would belong in a swamp. The people in the photo look very content and relaxed.

To me, this image represents a simpler time, where people just sat around and talked with their families. I think it exists in the art world to remind people of this time.

I see a country side in another continent and the workers are now relaxing after work. I feel like this belongs in the art world because it is showing a peice of the world.

I see people sitting around by the tree and then one person sort of off to the side closer to the tree. I think this exist in the art world because of the tree and how it's slanted. It makes you look more at the people on the other side.

Because the tree is leaning over and there is one man beneath it, I think he is trying to support something bigger than himself. Since the other people are away from the tree, they don't see the worry the guy under the tree does. It belongs in the art world because the image is symbolic to something bigger. Just like in literature, the best works of art always have three million different meanings beside entertainment.

Being 16, I think about the lion king in this image! You know what I'm talking about? Like how simba always like prances around trees and stuff.

But for a more literal meaning...i feel that it isolates and departs 2different civilizations. On one side you've got your traditional-what seems to me- native settler and then you've got then new guys...the immigrants. Theres a tree on the "native" side because it seems as if he's more aware of how to make use of his surroundings.
What I stated above is exactly why I think it exists; to show the world how 2 different civilizations can't clash as wella s we'd like.

This portrait almost makes me see two different trees and it looks kinda weird. I can not tell if there are two different trees in the picture behind one another. It makes me think of loneliness and as a matter of fact that is why I think it exists in the photography world. To signify of loneliness and to keep things close to you because after a while you just start to grow older and lonelier

I reall don't like this picture personally. Im not really interested in nature pictures. But, if i were to like nature pictures then i would like them to be naturals and very colorful. I think that it exsists it the world of art today because its different and draws peoples attention.

Perhaps these people are having a meeting or sorts. I assume that they are from different countries, so perhaps they are just learning a few of the differences of one another's culture. Who knows...

I dont know why this is in the art world but there are so many other things in the art world that i dont get so yeah. I realy like this piture though because it looks like the tree is like a arch or doorway for tree huggers. Sock It To Me!
