Online Sketchbook Prompt Twenty-Five
Julie Blackmon, Hanging, 2003 What are your thoughts when you look at this image? What does this photograph represent to you?
When i look at this image, i think of a little boy wanting to be like his big brother. Its like, the older brother is obsessed with working out and the little boy just wants to spend time with him and do things he does. you can tell the boy is sad because of his facial expression, he kind of has his arms crossed and it looks as if he is pouting
To me this image represents the amazing strength kids have. Not just physical strength but mental and emotional strength as well. This kid in particular looks like he is trying to overcome something that has been challenging.
My first thought when i look at this photo, a little boy is sad because i think he wants to spend time with his older brother but his brother ingores him and doing his thing so he gets mad orr he gets mad because he cant jump n hold the rope like his brother does since hes shortt.
looking at this image, i automatically think of childhood. The kid standin on the ground reminds me of myself when i was little. He has his arms folded, and to me it looks as if he feels like an outcast, or that he's different from the other little boy, when in reality he's not. It's not that he's shy but he doesn't yet understand that the world isn't against him.
Although I'm not entirely sure why, but the story of Cain and Abel immediately comes to mind. I suppose it's because these boys seem like brothers, and one is suceeding while the other is sitting nearby, completely jealous.
That little kid looks pretty ticked. It reminds me of the two boys I babysit. When Bailey won't let Branden play with him, Branden gets all upset and crosses his arms exactly like that.
My first thoughts when I look at this image are, wow, what a little brat (to the kid that is climbing the rope), The little boy looks sad either because he can't hand out with his bigger peer, or because he just can't do the same things with his peer. It reminds me of sibling rivalry.
Well it looks like that kis is hanging from a wire, which obviously cant be safe. But then when I looked at the kid on the ground looking all sad holding himselF, I thought it looked like he was upset that that one kid could reach and hang from that wire and he couldnt because he was too short or something. Yeah thats it.
this image looks as if the kids are brothers and theyre just playing around in their back yard or something. i wonder how that kid is hanging onto such a thin rope
i think this picture is pretty random. i dont kno why that kid is like hanging off a wire? and the other kid just seems mad. maybe he is just jealous that that other kid can support his weight on the little wire.
thsi picture reminds me of jealousy... frustration... stubborness. the boy NOT hanging seems to be pouting.. like he is too little to reach the rope to hang from
