Online Sketchbook Prompt Seven
Take a look at the recent images created by contemporary photographer Ernest Cadegan. Do you consider these images artwork? Can "pretty" artwork be considered influential? Why or why not?
Yes, pretty artwork can be influential; because some people don't like photography until they see what cool pictures you can actually take. So it basically inspires people. I believe these pictures are great, and very influential.
In my contemporary art issues class, we were discussing what is considered art and how art is defined. We pretty much came to the conclusion that the definition of art is different for every person. What one person may consider a masterpiece, another may consider crap. Art is in the eye of the beholder. These images remind me of Japanese art which is charaterized as simple and nature-inspired. I personally find this style to be very beautiful and relaxing which does influene me. It forces me to think of how therapeutic nature can be and artwork of nature can create a very tranquil atmosphere.

I like these pictures. I personally like the shapes of the pictures. I think that contemporary or "pretty" work can be influential although it isn't as amusing to look at.
These images are very powerful. They make me feel like im in a peaceful tranquil place. The white in the composition makes me the elements stick out. It think this is influental, it kind of breaks the pattern of having a lot going on in an image or having the layers sick out.

These images are artwork. Pretty images/art can totaly be influential they can transfer emotions,feeling etc....
